Wakmann, founded in New York in 1946, quickly established itself as a specialist in chronographs and technical timepieces, catering to professionals in aviation, engineering, and the military. The brand became known for its collaborations with Swiss manufacturers, most notably Breitling, and for assembling high-quality watches in the United States to navigate import tariffs. Wakmann’s chronographs from the 1960s, often powered by Valjoux and Venus movements, are prized today for their reliability, distinctive designs, and historical significance.
