This Vacheron Constantin timepiece was crafted in approx. the 1950s under reference number 4218. Vacheron Constantin, founded in 1755, is one of the oldest continuously operating watch manufacturers in the world, known for its exceptional craftsmanship and innovative designs.
Design and Construction
This particular Vacheron Constantin features an 18K yellow gold case measuring approximately 35mm in diameter, with a lug-to-lug length of about 42mm. The now iconic teardrop lugs and eye-catching crown design are distinctive design elements of this piece. The overall body of this watch is in immaculate condition.
Movement
At the heart of this Vacheron beats a 454 manual-wind movement. This movement is based on a Jaeger-LeCoultre ébauche 450, as Vacheron Constantin had a long-standing partnership with Jaeger-LeCoultre during this period. This 454 caliber features 17 jewels and showcases Vacheron Constantin's commitment to haute horlogerie, with its Côtes de Genève decorated rhodium-plated finish, lever escapement, and cut bimetallic balance. The movement in this piece runs well at the time of listing, but has not been bench tested for precise accuracy.
