Rolex, founded in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis in London, England, later moved to Geneva, Switzerland in 1919. While primarily known for their iconic sports and dress watches, Rolex also produced a variety of elegant timepieces in their early years, including rectangular "Tank" style watches. These early Rolex models, particularly from the 1930s, showcase the brand's versatility and commitment to precision timekeeping across various styles.

Notes

This Rolex is in well-preserved pre-owned condition, showing light surface wear consistent with its age. The white gold retains its original sheen. The case sides remain sharp, and the overall structure of the watch is intact. Two of our favorite details of this piece is its curved case back, allowing for a more comfortable wear on the wrist, and its unique beveling on the crown which, when seen in person, catches light in a fun way. The almost two-toned silvered dial has developed a charming patina over time, with visible spotting that adds to the vintage appeal of this piece. The black Arabic numerals are still perfectly legible. The blued steel hands are in great condition and maintain their original color. The crystal remains free from any significant cracks or chips. Overall, this Rolex Tank from 1937 is a rare and elegant example of early Rolex craftsmanship.
