Rolex, founded in 1905 by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis, is renowned for its pioneering role in wristwatch development and its reputation for precision, durability, and timeless design. The Oyster case, introduced in 1926, was a major innovation that set new standards for water and dust resistance, making Rolex watches suitable for a wide range of demanding environments. By the early 1950s, Rolex had established itself as a leader in technical achievement with the Oyster Precision line offering strong accuracy in a robust, waterproof case.

Notes

This Rolex features a 34mm steel case that sits in overall good condition and presents a likely polish at one point. Its white/silver dial is equally clean, and is believed to have been refinished. It sports applied hour markers and once lumed hands. This piece is powered by a 17-jeweled manual wind movement and is fitted with a brown genuine leather strap and Rolex stamped “big shovel crown” buckle. Overall, this Rolex 6223 sits in good vintage condition, showing wear that has likely been touched up by a watchmaker through time.
