Omega’s Seamaster line, introduced in 1948, quickly became a cornerstone of the brand’s reputation for robust, water-resistant wristwatches. By the early 1950s, references like the 2577-3 showcased Omega’s pioneering use of bumper automatic movements, such as the Caliber 351, which featured a distinctive semi-rotor winding system. These early Seamasters were designed to bridge the gap between dress and sport watches, offering elegant styling with the added benefit of enhanced durability and water resistance. Collectors value these watches for their historical significance, technical innovation, and the way they exemplify Omega’s mid-century design philosophy.

This Omega features a 35mm steel case that sits in overall fair condition with scratches visible throughout. Most notably to its bezel. Its dial is visibly patinated with a consistent color throughout and an eye-catching oxidization. It sports applied hour markers and dauphine style hands. This piece is powered by a 17-jeweled automatic bumper movement and is fitted with a brown nylon strap and gold colored buckle. Its crystal sits in fair condition with noticeable scratches to its surface. Overall, this Omega sits in fair vintage condition, showing wear consistent with its age, but it should be noted that this very wear is what makes this watch so unique.
