Omega’s Seamaster line has been a cornerstone of the brand since its launch in 1948, originally designed to offer water resistance and everyday durability. By the mid-1950s, Omega expanded the collection with the Seamaster Calendar, introducing a practical date window and showcasing the brand’s commitment to technical progress. Reference 2849, powered by the automatic Caliber 503, reflects Omega’s blend of innovation and classic design during this era, making it a standout in the evolution of the Seamaster family.

Notes

A one-of-a-kind watch from an iconic brand. This Omega Seamaster Calendar features a 34mm gold-plated case that sits in overall fair condition with some visible wear throughout, most notably to the top side of its lugs. The standout feature of this watch is undoubtedly its dial, distinguished by a remarkable patina that can only be achieved with 70+ years of patience. It sports applied hour markers, dauphine hands, and a date window at 3 o’clock. There is a very light number of silver scratches beneath and above the Omega logo that are only visible upon very close inspection. Its seconds hand has some visible wear upon close inspection, and the crown looks to have been replaced at one point. This piece is powered by an Omega 503 automatic movement and is fitted with a green genuine snakeskin strap. Overall, this Omega sits in good vintage condition, showing wear consistent with its age, but it should be noted that this very wear is what makes this watch so special.
