Olympic was one of several smaller Swiss brands active in the mid-20th century that utilized high-quality movements from established manufacturers like Venus to create accessible chronographs. The Venus 170 movement, featured in this watch, is a manually wound chronograph caliber known for its robustness and relatively compact size, making it popular in the 1940s and 1950s among brands seeking reliable chronograph functionality. The heavy patina on the dial and case reflects decades of use, offering a strong vintage character.
