Produced in the early 2000s, this Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control - Reserve De Marche embodies a perfect blend of classic aesthetics and practical complications. "Réserve de Marche", French for "power reserve" in watches, is a feature that indicates how much longer a mechanical watch will run before needing to be wound again. Known for their French watchmaking heritage, "JLC" was among the pioneers in introducing this power reserve feature to wristwatches with their Powermatic model in 1948. This Master Control comes with its original owners booklet.
Design and Construction
Featuring a 37mm steel case with a lug-to-lug length of approximately 43mm, this Master Control offers a versatile size suitable for most wrists. The black dial, protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, provides excellent legibility and a timeless appeal. Additionally, the automatic movement in this piece is on full display with it's crystal case back.
Movement
At the heart of this timepiece is Jaeger LeCoultre's 928/2 automatic movement. This self-winding caliber boasts an impressive 45 jewels, ensuring smooth operation and longevity. The movement in this Jaeger LeCoultre runs well at the time of listing, but has not been bench tested for precise accuracy.
Signature Features
This watch's standout features include its power reserve function, date complicaton, and small seconds register. These practical complications enhance the functionality of the timepiece, making it an ideal companion for the discerning watch enthusiast.
Dial and Aesthetics
The black dial on this piece remains understated, allowing for a striking visual balance against it's stainless steel case. Note the small red details applied to each individual complication on the watch, giving a touch of flare to the piece.
Strap and Wearability
This Master Control comes fitted with it's original leather strap/buckle, measuring approximately 7.2 inches (not including watch head).
