The Enicar Sherpa Graph debuted at the 1960 Baselworld alongside other tool watches from this Swiss marque, founded in 1914 by Ariste Racine, whose surname spelled backward yielded the brand name. Enicar sponsored racing legends like Jim Clark and Stirling Moss, with Clark wearing a Sherpa Graph variation as an ambassador soon after launch. The Ref. 072/011 Mark II B packs a then-modern 40mm Super Compressor case by EPSA and the legendary Valjoux 72 manual-wind movement shared with the Rolex Daytona. The Sherpa Graph is one of the most desirable models from this iconic brand.

Notes
This Enicar Sherpa Graph features a substantial 40mm stainless steel case that remains in good overall condition. It shows light surface wear from careful use and appears to have been lightly polished at some point. Its Super Compressor crown was likely replaced. Its case back displays several nicks from improper opening tool use, and while the engraved text is faint, it remains visible under close inspection. Its iconic Seapearl medallion remains fully visible. Its black dial is clean, showing only minor marks visible under magnification. The “0” in the “20” of the minute counter has lost a small portion of its print. A number of white specks are visible on the underside of the crystal (as seen in the macro images); our watchmaker can address these upon request after purchase, though they are largely unobtrusive to the naked eye. Applied hour markers with lume plots, along with lumed hour and minute hands, show patina and light spotting. Its white chapter ring exhibits the most visible aging, with darkened spots in a few areas. We believe both the chapter ring and chronograph sweep hand originate from a later Mk III model. Powering this piece is the manually wound, 17-jewel Valjoux Cal. 72 movement. It’s paired with an aftermarket brown suede leather strap and matte steel buckle. Its acrylic crystal shows some small scratches and the aforementioned spotting on its underside. Overall, this Enicar Sherpa Graph presents as a well-preserved vintage example that shows honest wear, character, and watchmaker attention over time.
