Cartier was founded in 1847 by Louis-François Cartier in Paris. The Tank, introduced in 1917 by Louis Cartier, was inspired by the horizontal lines of Renault tanks used in World War I and has since become one of the most iconic watch designs in history. Its rectangular shape, clean lines, and elegant proportions have made it a favorite among celebrities, royalty, and watch enthusiasts alike. The quartz version, introduced in the 1980s, maintained the Tank's distinctive aesthetic while incorporating modern timekeeping technology, making it a perfect blend of Cartier's traditional elegance and contemporary convenience.

Notes
This Cartier features a 21mm vermeil case that sits in overall fair condition. There are visible nicks and dings across the case, however, this doesn’t take away from the overall presentation of the watch. Due to the vermeil case, some of the gold plating has started to wear through on the fronts of each lug. Its champagne/goldish dial is clean, with roman numeral markers and sword hands. Its crystal has some visible scratches and nicks in the corners. However, this can be replaced upon request following purchase. The watch is powered by a quartz battery movement and is fitted with a brown leather strap. Overall, this Cartier Tank Quartz sits in fair vintage condition, showing wear consistent with its age.
